Exam preparation
BECE maths preparation for JSS 3
The Basic Education Certificate Examination closes junior secondary school. Lessons that rebuild the JSS topics your child is unsure of, then practise the kind of questions the papers ask. At our Uyo centre, or online.
What BECE is
BECE is taken in the final year of junior secondary school, JSS 3. It is the examination that moves a student from junior to senior secondary.
Each state conducts BECE for its own schools, and in Akwa Ibom the state government runs it. NECO conducts BECE for Federal Unity Colleges. Ask your child's school which one they will sit, because the timetable and paper format can differ.
How we prepare JSS 3 students
Find the gaps
A free assessment shows which JSS 1 and JSS 2 topics are still shaky. Those come first.
Rebuild the topics
Number work, algebra, geometry, mensuration and statistics, taught until the method makes sense.
Practise both styles
Objective questions for speed and accuracy, and essay questions with every step written out.
Review the mistakes
Each mistake tells us what to go over again before the next topic.
Start early in JSS 3
BECE covers maths from all three junior secondary years. A student who starts preparing at the beginning of JSS 3 has time to fix earlier gaps as well as revise.
If the exam is close, tell us the date when you enquire. We will tell you honestly what can be covered in the lessons that fit before then. After BECE, the same lessons continue into senior secondary maths and WAEC and NECO preparation.
